I found this great video on how prisoners in an island in Norway work on different tasks as their prison sentence such as raising farm animals and taking care of a poultry farm.

Prisoners are in no cells. They use solar energy for electricity and use traditional wood fire to keep them warm during the cold nights. This ECO prison houses less than 150 inmates and each one of them is responsible in tasks to be done in prison. This way, they would not have a hard time going back to society after they’ve got out of prison- which does not look like a prison at all.
